Why is it called "Debugging"?

In 1951, Grace Hopper was a programmer working on the UNIVACI, the first
large scale computer. One day, a system that bad been working suddenly
stopped. She researched the problem and was able to find the cause - a moth
inside the computer. She pasted the "bug" inside the system logbook,
and computer problems have been called bugs ever since.

Grace Hopper was born in 1906,earned a Ph.D. from Yale in Math and Physics
in 1934,served in the Navy off and on from 1943 to 1986 (retiring as a Rear
Admiral), and passed to away in 1992. She was one of the pioneers of
